Wooden shutters
Made-to-measure wooden shutters
Our featured suppliers offer wooden shutters in a choice of woods and wood-based materials, each offering a different combination of affordability and features.
As with most purchases, the more you pay, the better you'll tend to get in terms of quality, appearance and performance. For example, cheap wooden shutters made from composite materials (eg fibreboard) only come with paint finishes as opposed to wood stains, as they don't have any natural grain. At the upper end of the price range, you can buy motorised made-to-measure wooden shutters made from premium quality hardwood.
Hillarys wooden shutters
If you'd like to have everything done for you - including measuring up and fitting - Hillarys offers made-to-measure wooden shutters in a choice of four materials:
Western Red Cedar
Made with North American hardwood, Western Red Cedar wooden shutters by Hillarys are this supplier's premium quality range. The wood is very stable and features an attractive natural woodgrain. These luxury wooden shutters might best be enjoyed with an oiled finish.
Premium wood
Hillarys premium, durable wooden shutters are made from 100% real wood, which also has an attractive grain. This range is available in a choice of stained and painted finishes.
Essential wood
Hillarys essential wooden shutters use wood panels fitted into a craftwood frame. This range is available in painted finishes.
Craftwood
The most affordable line in Hillarys wooden shutters range is made from craftwood, which is a low density fibreboard (LDF). Whilst strong and straight, this engineered material lacks natural woodgrain, so these made-to-measure shutters come in a choice of painted finishes.
